"With catchy sounds and some sneaky Australiana references, they make it hard not to fall in love with their debut album."

More Dear Seattle More Dear Seattle

Dear Seattle are one of those bands that you shouldn’t pass by. Their compelling, energetic way of making pop-punk is something else. With catchy sounds and some sneaky Australiana references, they make it hard not to fall in love with their debut album. But that’s not what will get you on side. It’s their ability to let out so much feeling through every instrument played and every line sung, with fearless lyricism fuelled by the band's token attitude.

The Dr Phil references and the "da-da-das" are so much fun in Daytime TV, turning it into one of the catchiest songs on the record. It’s the next song where things get no less fun yet somehow more serious. Throwing away that masculine culture that is embedded in so many, and talking through your anxiety is so bloody cool, and Dear Seattle perfect that in Bigger Than My Brain. As well as being a total banger, it’s refreshing and a beautiful release of emotions.

If you’ve been waiting for a band to fill the void since the death of Kisschasy, Dear Seattle is it. Alongside animated instrumentals, sneaky breakdowns and a whole lot of fun, Dear Seattle have a way of articulating so many gritty emotions through each song on Don’t Let Go.
