Album Review: Crossfaith - Apocalyze

For the most part the apparent lack of restraint results in a little too much bedlam.

3 stars

The companionship between metal and electronics is no new thing, but Crossfaith have made their union of heavy instrumentation, brutal vocals and harsh electronics appear like something entirely of their own construction. Accordingly, therein lies one major flaw; by extracting the extremes of these two very different genres (yet similar in their potential ferocity), Crossfaith have approached this challenge with full force and no sense of caution. Riddled throughout the album are a number of instances where a great balance is struck, but for the most part the apparent lack of restraint results in a little too much bedlam.
