Album Review: Cradle Of Filth - Hammer Of The Witches

StarStarStar

More Cradle Of Filth Cradle Of Filth

After several mediocre releases and a key member departure, Cradle Of Filth have rediscovered their trademark black metal sound and a revitalisation of vocalist Dani Filth.

While this album continues a trend of dropping significantly from the hammed-up synth drivers into several tracks that try and fail at vigorous shifting through gothic opera, Right Wing Of The Garden Triptych and Deflowering The Maidenhead, Displeasuring The Goddess set a more comprehensive tone with devastating blast beats, ear-splitting riffs and, most importantly, a Dani Filth performance that finally balances between death growl and screaming banshee.
