"The random squirrel metaphor is explained at the end."
Charlie Pickering's ABC program The Weekly offers the sharpest current affairs satire on TV.
For his first solo stand-up show at MICF in four years the charismatic comedian has switched the dapper suit for jeans and a T. Early — Pickering flexes his improvisational flair when, satisfyingly, he interrogates latecomers. The theme of How To Tame A Wild Squirrel is again topical, being based (loosely) on the Internet. But it's not as consistent, or as fresh, as The Weekly. (Pickering quips, "This whole thing is digression".) His jokes about Tony Abbott's "shirtfronting" threat to Vladimir Putin seem redundant. The random squirrel metaphor is explained at the end.
