"A heavy art pop side sitting underneath a minimal electronic dominance."

More Buoy More Buoy

The four short tracks of Sydney artist BUOY's Break EP create a stirring impact with Charmian Kingston's emotion-driven sound.

The exposed nature of her song writing vibes perfectly against the haunting broken chords and reversed samples of Everything Must Change, while the slick percussion and sharper vocals in Clouds & Rain flash a heavy art-pop side sitting underneath a minimal electronic dominance. The use of slow building intensity throughout Exit and Arctic Ocean will no doubt draw parallels to early Grimes tracks, but BUOY has given use to enough of her own flair and subtle hooks to garner a lot of deserved attention.
