Brian EnoAs Brian Eno explains it The Ship is based on "experiments with three-dimensional recording techniques", and is "as much musical novel as traditional album" exploring humankind's hubris and paranoia with Markov chain-generated poetry.
For once Eno's high concepts and noble intentions lead him down into an unprofitable abyss of woozy drones and impenetrable free verse that might have been delivered by a recovering ketamine addict. The Ship may only be a partial success at best, but at least Eno keeps his failures interesting.
