Birds Of TokyoThe press notes say Birds of Tokyo have delivered, “Four songs about being a long way from home… perspective being gained from distance… trying to find connection in a strange new place.”
If this is what happens when they travel, these boys need to get home – quickly. Opening with what sounds like Phil Collins at his 1981 solo worst, things don’t improve. Since a barrage of radio-friendly singles on 2013’s March Fires, they’ve embraced that album’s more gimmicky aspects and disappeared a little too far down the synthetic rabbit hole. Time to dust off the guitars, boys.
