More Ball Park Music More Ball Park Music

Upon their highly anticipated return to Hobart, Ball Park Music brought very talented support acts Sahara Beck and The Creases, both hailing from Brisbane, with them. Sahara Beck took to the stage first, armed with nothing but her guitar, and treated the small crowd to a beautifully imitate performance that gained her many new fans on the island state. When The Creases began their set dancing spots were filling up quickly. The Creases played well and set the vibe for what was to come when Ball Park Music took to the stage. The crowd was warmed up and ready to go.

By the time Ball Park Music graced the stage, we were more than ready. The indie-pop/rock band greeted everyone politely, making it known how excited they were to be back in Hobart after a number of years. Kicking things off with an old crowd-pleaser, Literally Baby, not one person in the room was silent or stationary. As the set continued, the favourites kept coming: Sad Rude Future Dude, Surrender, Everything Is Shit Except My Friendship With You and Trippin' The Light Fantastic were all full of energy and got a huge response from the already-amped-up crowd. Halfway through the set, they gave a special shoutout to Hobart before a story was told about a girl under the mountain. Ball Park Music then performed Leef, in all its heartfelt beauty. An acoustic version of It's Nice To Be Alive got everyone singing at the top of their lungs and realising that it really IS nice to be alive.

After leaving the stage and being summoned back on by a resounding encore chant, Ball Park Music returned with one last favourite, Cocaine Lion. This was enjoyed profusely by everyone in the room and left us feeling pumped for their set at Marion Bay Falls Festival 2016/17!
