Yet as Bionic’s backdrops become more obtuse, Big Fella continues on her not-so-merry way, her down low, jazzy, over-wrought delivery purpose-built for the latest of late nights. Safe to say this country has produced little like Abominable Galaxy and with it Audego have managed to reinvigorate a well-worn sound.

There are a handful of tracks in the collection that do play to Gray’s voice and style, including a mash up of The Toyes/Sublime’s Smoke Two Joints and Sail by Awolnation, both of which embrace a more complete and suitable sound.

It crosses boundaries for a band that is still holding onto their reggae foundation, demonstrating they are ready to take on a challenge by adding more blends into the mix.

With Lavender Prayers, James Teague has crafted a very eclectic and intriguing album.

His heavy association with the Brit-pop movement and songwriting that is embedded in the English culture has left him with an album that balances extensiveness, focus and inspiration.

A milestone not only for Tiersen’s career, but for music as a whole.
