In the '80s, post-punk and new wave collided with dark electronic music with industrial leanings, leading to the label electric body music (EBM), highlighting the music's electric throb and dull narcotic groove. We're talking pre-champagne-swilling Einstürzende Neubauten, SPK, Jah Wobble, Severed Heads, Cabaret Voltaire, Naked Lunch, Yello, even filmmaker John Carpenter, amongst two discs of even more obscure, boundary-pushing artists.
