A decent, but ultimately lacklustre release.

Synth textures swirl around splashy jazz drumming, while Martinez’ agile guitar dances over several layers of Rosie’s bright vocals.

Moon has been carefully arranged so as not to overwhelm the listener, but rather to softly extend an invitation into its otherworldly arrangements.

This release should ensure that Sydonia are exposed to a wider audience, proving their versatility by producing an inspiring and atmospheric album.

Highlights include gentle (yet bold) opener Said And Done and the expressive Back Home Again, with its rhythmic drum patterns and emotive backing vocals.

Endless Drain remains a hook-laden pop overdose.

Lakeman is a devil of a musician and songwriter, and with lush, sometimes overcrowded arrangements, he is ably backed by a band and a composition style that takes the meaning of English folk music in a much more modern direction.

The songs and lyrical imagery may be too considered at times but this is still Finn pushing forward and continuing his brave exploration of music.

The power of Harmony is in their collateral hushed charisma that bursts into a cathartic baptism of fire, where self-flagellation and bloodletting are true sources of redemption.
