Sydney pop-punk outfit Yours Truly has halved, as founding members, Lachlan Cronin (guitar) and Bradley Cronan (drums) have left the band.
The remaining members, vocalist Mikaila Delgado and guitarist Teddie Winder-Haron announced their bandmates’ exits via a social media post, thanking them for their “time and contribution to the band”. Delgado and Winder-Haron will continue as Yours Truly.
“We’re here to let you know that Lachlan and Brad have decided their time with Yours Truly has come to an end,” the band’s social media post reads.
The post continues, “Looking back we achieved a lot and wanted to thank them for their time and contribution to the band. We wish them the best with their futures. Mikaila and Teddie have decided to move forward and continue Yours Truly, and couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead for all of us”.
Cronin and Cronan have also issued statements explaining their decisions, with the guitarist writing, “It’s been an honour to play and meet the fans that support YT, as well as the bands and friends that I’ve met along the way. My musical journey doesn’t end here as I am looking forward to entering the world of music production.”
Cronan, meanwhile, has decided to further his education and “pursue a different career path”. He called his time in Yours Truly an “unforgettable experience” that he has “deep gratitude” for. “Your support has meant the world to me, and I will always treasure the connections we have made through music,” he wrote.
The announcement comes a few weeks after Yours Truly featured on the collaborative track, Imposter, with RedHook. The alt-rock banger utilises the sci-fi theme of Shapeshifters and body-snatching as a metaphor to articulate a traumatic experience.
Imposter is about watching someone you love change into a completely different person before a heartbreaking trail of their past lies, and deceptions unravel before your eyes.
Before that, Yours Truly released the surprise EP, is this what i lofi?, a companion piece to their album is this what i look like?, which featured a collaboration with You Me At Six vocalist Josh Franceschi.
