heartLESS is the fourth single from the band's upcoming eighth album, Truth Decay.
You Me At Six are slated to release their most diverse album, Truth Decay, on Friday, 27 January 2023.
The Surrey band have shared a string of fantastic singles, including the punchy Deep Cuts, No Future? Yeah, Right, featuring Enter Shikari vocalist Rou Reynolds and the emotional throwback of Mixed Emotions (I Didn’t Know How to Tell You What I Was Going Through).
Today, the group returns with the synth-laden heartLESS, which somehow encapsulates early You Me At Six vibes and the electronic sounds thrown into their recent records, VI and Suckapunch.
"heartLESS was a song we’ve been sitting on for years, knowing it would always come out. It’s a song about feeling insecure and yet accepting of whatever may come. I wrote this song about someone close to me in the middle ground of a breakup and falling in love," singer Josh Franceschi shared about the track.
To celebrate the release of their eighth album, You Me At Six have partnered with Music Declares Emergency and unveiled a limited number of Truth Decay "Decayed Versions" vinyl - all unique and hand-customised by the band. Made from recycled plastics and paint, £1 of sales from this edition go to Music Declares Emergency’s No Music On A Dead Planet campaign. The vinyl is sold out, but you can see the pictures here.
On the partnership with Music Declares, Franceschi commented, "We wanted to do something fun for fans but also something that told the story about this record. So we decided to represent decaying records by spray painting and burning them and generally doing whatever we could without actually breaking them!

"It felt important to further the message with these and team up with the No Music On A Dead Planet campaign, who do great work to raise awareness of global warming and how the music industry can help steady the decline of the planet."
A Music Declares Emergency representative added, "We are delighted to be working with You Me At Six on their new album release. As a band that has been unafraid to speak out on the climate emergency, we are proud to partner with them on the limited edition version of Truth Decay and hope their fans will enjoy the album and the message that there is No Music On A Dead Planet."
In 2020, You Me At Six released the dance-rock single, Our House (The Mess We Made). All the proceeds from the single went to the WIRES Wildlife Emergency Fund to help fight the horrific, unrelenting fires that ravaged and traumatised Australia throughout 2019 and 2020.
