You Am I, Royel Otis Join Record Store Day Australian Release List

You Am I and Royel Otis have joined the exclusive Record Store Day Australian list, with the pair accompanying the likes of Bluey, The Saints, Dannii Minogue, Pond, Ninajirachi, and more.

Two weeks ago, Record Store Day Australia revealed the star-studded line-up of Australian artists participating in this year’s event, while promising there was more to come.

For their exclusive release, You Am I will release their live album, Someone Else’s Crowd, on vinyl for the first time. The album will be pressed on classic black vinyl and feature brand new artwork.

Someone Else’s Crowd was recorded in 1994 at Memorial Stadium, Seattle, while You Am I were on tour alongside grunge icons Soundgarden. The live album captures a defining moment for the band and set the stage for their influential second album, Hi Fi Way, which turns 30 this year.

Meanwhile, Royel Otis have announced that they’ll release an exclusive pressing of their popular Nashville Sessions EP.

In addition to the newly announced pair, Australian artists added to the local import list include Confidence Man, Ruel, and The Veronicas. This year’s Record Store Day will take place on Saturday, 12 April. Over 200 independent record stores across Australia will participate, selling limited-edition vinyl, hosting special events, live in-stores and special activities. The event will be held in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, the Northern Territory, South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania.
