X CLUB. Link Up With Pretty Girl For New Single, 'Only If U'

X CLUB. have returned to Dance Discs releasing new single Only If U featuring rising Melbourne producer and songwriter Pretty Girl. Alongside the release they've shared an accompanying music video directed by Brodie Charters. 

The track is taken from their forthcoming second EP on the label and sees the duo step into a new sonic direction, one that's focussed in emotion. The track features Pretty Girl's trademark shadowy vocals combined with dynamic breaks, trancey synths, heavy bass lines and sharp highs. 

On the track they say, "We wanted to experiment with making a slower, more atmospheric broken beat techno track” says Ben, “and after playing around with a Ray J acapella sample, we figured we’d ditch that and focus on an original vocal reaching out to PG. She came back to us super quickly with some really cool short vocal phrases that we manipulated into something that felt unique to the project”

Jesse of the group explains, “We wanted to lead with Only If U for the EP as it's kind of a step into unique territory sonically for us. Working with a vocalist on an original piece was new to us and allowed us to explore a unique blend between the hard hitting raw percussive sound on the rest of the EP and the slower atmospheric influence that someone like Pretty Girl brings to a record”.
