MALPA song and dance performance streaming tonight
A performance of traditional and ancestral Aboriginal dances from the Cape York regional will be live streamed from the festival tonight (Sunday 29 December).
The MALPA event features the Pormpuraaw and Injinoo clans people, with the songs and dances set to a backdrop of traditional artwork and sculpture.
The festival describes it as, “A gathering to explore facing fears – of life on country, losing aeons of old knowledge and the challenges for the future – these clans people journey through the physical, spiritual and stories yet to come.”
Directed by Jeremy Geia, the performance was commission specifically for this year's festival.
