"It’s the only song on the record that has a clear uplifting message."
Aussie duo Winterbourne, aka James Draper and Jordan Brady, have unveiled a run of headline dates for this October/November in support of their forthcoming new album, Echo Of Youth.
The tour announced follows a recent stint supporting Dean Lewis and a run of sold-out headline shows, and is accompanied by the release new single Too Many, the third taste of Echo Of Youth.
“We didn’t realise until after the recording process but it’s the only song on the record that has a clear uplifting message, and it kind of serves as a response to a lot of questions throughout the album,” Draper said.
“We recorded this one first when we arrived at the studio in Byron. It was night time by the time we got going and we all sat around in a small circle and just jammed on this song for a couple of hours until we felt we had it.
“Too Many is a slow build from one point to another with a bunch of ramblings that rhyme over the top. Much like when you’re staring out into the distance and all the things that are making you feel overwhelmed are adding up in your head but then some thought or chemical brings you comfort, and you revel in that while you walk home listening to music. Plus rhyme.”
