The Gorgeous Festival will return to McLaren Vale this year

South Australia's Gorgeous Festival has announced that it will be returning to McLaren Vale in 2012, providing a mix of wine, food and music.

Amidst a climate of festival closures in the state, and slowing tourism dollars, founder of the festival Alistair Cranney has announced today that the festival will be going ahead in 2012 and that the line-up will be released Monday 30 July.

Last year's festival featured Icehouse, Josh Pyke, Emma Louise and Busby Marou.

“The reason I created Gorgeous Festival is to show off the picturesque area of McLaren Vale and showcase the delicious food and wine available,” he said.

“I think it's important not to just rely on the music scene to make a festival successful but to offer something unique for guests to enjoy. Being from the area it is important to my wife and I to make Gorgeous Festival successful not only for us but for the local businesses who have so much to offer all year round.”

Cranney also announced today that the general admission ticket price has been dropped to $88 plus booking fee, with the VIP tickets $198 plus booking fee.

Following the line-up announcement Monday 30 July, tickets go on sale Thursday 9 August. The festival will take place Saturday 24 November.
