The acclaimed indie group adds a single Melbourne headline show in March 2013, leading up to their Bluesfest appearance

More Wilco More Wilco

Country-twangin' alt-pop songmasters Wilco have announced a single headlining show in Melbourne in March 2013. This gig from the critically-acclaimed Chicago six-piece will occur before they appear at Bryon Bay's Bluesfest, being one of the big draws from the festival's first announcement.

Wilco have been regular visitors to Australia since appearing at the 2003 Big Day Out and an earlier Bluesfest in 2008. Since dropping their latest full-length, 2011's The Whole Love, the band have been on the road bringing their dynamic live show around the world.

In addition to their reputation as consummate songwriters, cemented with their 2001 classic Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, Wilco are a band of skilled live performers strong enough to have drawn virtuoso musicians such as guitar legend Nels Cline (The Flaming Lips, Thurston Moore) into their midst.

Tickets for Bluesfest are currently on sale and you can grab seats for their headline show from Wednesday 24 October:
