After a stellar debut, the event returns

Creative arts festival White Night will return to Melbourne in 2014 after its successful debut earlier this year.

The diverse event made quite the entrance in 2013, with the likes of The Cat Empire, World's End Press and Eagle & The Worm performing and a host of building projections and installations on display to light up the city. More than 300,000 people attended the event, a pretty impressive feat for its first year.

White Night will also be recognised at tonight's Helpmann Awards at the Sydney Opera House, which will be screened on Foxtel's Arena channel.

Applications for artists, performers and organisations who wish to participate in the event will open in mid-August - head to the White Night website for more details.
