'What We Do In The Shadows' TV Reboot Officially Ordered To Series

Finally!

After months in development limbo, US network FX has officially greenlit the TV series reboot of beloved  vampire cult comedy What We Do In The Shadows.

As reported by Deadline, 10 hour-long episodes of the show have been ordered to premiere in autumn 2019 with stars of the original 2014 mockumentary Jermaine Clement set to write and executive produce and Taika Watiti to direct and executive produce.

Several changes will be made between the film and the series, including a new setting of New York City and the introduction of a female character played by Natasia Demetriou.

Other stars include Kayvan Novak, Harvey Guillen and Matt Berry who is best known for his work on The IT Crowd, The Mighty Boosh and Garth Marenghi's Darkplace.

In an interview with The Music last year, Watiti alluded to the progression of the show as well as Clement's involvement.

"We are still story-lining that and writing it, but Jermaine and I are notoriously lazy," Watiti said.

"It took us a long time to write What We Do In The Shadows. We may as well not even written it though, because we didn't show the script to anyone."
