We Might Not See Blink-182 In Australia Ever Again

Blink-182 last toured Australia in 2013 and it's looking likely that'll be the last time the punk rockers perform on our shores. 

Talking to host Neil Griffiths on an upcoming episode of The Music Podcast, Mark Hoppus discussed the prospect of the band heading back Down Under following their last trip which saw current Avenged Sevenfold drummer and longtime Bad Religion member Brooks Wackerman step in for Travis Barker.

Barker hasn't boarded an aeroplane since a fatal plane crash in 2008 which killed four people and left him with burns to 65% of his body.

"I don't know that we would necessarily come back without Travis unless we found the exact right drummer to do that," Hoppus told Griffiths.

"Last time we came over and had Brooks Wackerman fill in for Travis [that] was kind of a last minute thing where Travis thought that he was gonna be able to get on a plane and come over.

"A couple of weeks beforehand he said 'Hey look guys, I don't think that I'm gonna be able to do that'. And of course, we totally understood and luckily our friend Brooks stepped in and made that tour happen.

"But I don't know how I'd feel about setting up a tour knowing that Travis wasn't going to be there. But I'm not saying no to anything, we'll just have to see how it all shakes out."

Hoppus will feature on next week's The Music Podcast alongside All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth in support of their new band, Simple Creatures, and the forthcoming debut EP Strange Love due out on 29 March.
