“We’re literally busting to unleash an epic ‘WAMCon'."
There’s no denying the musical talent and potential WA breeds, and with WAM Festival confirming more details of this November’s event and hinting at a massive first speaker announcement in the coming weeks, there’s more anticipation than ever surrounding the annual event.
The music conference and celebration of local music went out all guns blazing in 2015, expanding the festival by an additional day, introducing Friday showcases and more, which saw more than 10,000 people turn out to see 166 acts and 64 conference speakers; an effort that WA music body WAM plan to outdo with the next festival.
“We’re literally busting to unleash an epic ‘WAMCon’ speakers first announcement in two week's time,” conference coordinator Claire Hodgson said.
“So stay tuned for a few surprises, plus more details on all of the wonderful networking and professional development opportunities set to help take your music career to the next level!"

Running from Nov 3 – 6, the WAM Festival will once again kick off with the WAM Awards (Nov 3), with the conference taking place Nov 4 -5 at the State Theatre, Friday showcases and the return of last year’s successful QuayNote boat party on Nov 4, free Saturday Specular and Block Park on Nov 5, and Sunday best to close out the festivities on Nov 6.
“This year will see the return of some Festival faves, including the all-free Saturday Spectacular and Block Party, plus the birth of a tonne of exciting new partnerships and events,” said Gun Fever director/WAM festival coordinator Greg Sanders, with the 2016 event marking his third and final stint with the festival.
“We’re expecting even bigger things with the mouth-watering lineup of over 150 artists from all genres we’ll be showcasing, proving just how exciting, diverse and jam-packed with talent the WA music community really is."
