The “overwhelming generosity” continues

Continuing on from last month’s “overwhelming generosity”, the WA music scene has raised more than $10,000 for beloved Perth musician Steve "Gibbo" Gibson who was diagnosed with cancer last year.

With Gibson set to undergo surgery to treat his bladder cancer, a number of local acts - including The Kill Devil Hills, Datura4 and Timothy Nelson - came together at Clancy’s Fremantle on Saturday for a gig to raise funds for medical bills and financial support for his family.

The successful event took in $10,158.80, which adds to $16,795 raised via GoFundMe over the past month.

Gibson currently plays with numerous WA acts, including The Wasted Sons and Los Porcheros, having previously been a member of The Kill Devil Hills, who he sang with during the Clancy’s benefit show.
