Beloved Brisbane rockers and 2016 QMA winners Violent Soho will have extra cause to celebrate on their upcoming tour, following the news that they are set to join the esteemed ranks of artists honoured with their own plaque on the Brunswick St Mall Walk Of Fame.

The celebrated Mansfield-bred outfit will be honoured as part of the Queensland Music Awards Showcase at the upcoming Valley Fiesta, taking place at the end of the month.

The showcase is the Fiesta's annual chance to highlight some of the state's best acts, including 2016 Billy Thorpe Scholarship finalists FOREVR, World Music Award winners MZAZA, Blues & Roots Award winners Bearfoot, People's Choice Award — Most Promising Female winner (and Blues & Roots Award finalist) Deena and Indigenous Award winner Emily Wurramurra.

As this year's Song Of The Year winners (for Like Soda), Violent Soho will take their place in concrete on the walk (pictured left) alongside fellow QMA winners and plaque-holders such as Ball Park Music, Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Emma Louise, Halfway, The Gin Club and adopted Queenslander Troy Cassar-Daley, among other local legends.

Violent Soho also took out the QMA for Album Of The Year in 2015, for their acclaimed third abum Hungry Ghost.

According to QMusic chief executive Joel Edmondson, the four-piece's inclusion among the ranks of Qld acts quite literally cemented into Brisbane's history — on the heels of their well received fourth full-length, WACO — is a no-brainer, given their reputation among fans and industry folk alike.

"Violent Soho won Song Of The Year at the last QMAs for Like Soda, which was judged by a panel of industry judges from around the country," Edmondson told The Music

"It goes without saying that Violent Soho are one of Queensland’s most talented and hardworking bands, and very much deserve their place amongst their peers on the Walk Of Fame."

The free-entry QMA Showcase runs from 2-7pm on Sunday 30 October. For more information, see the Facebook event page.

The wider Fiesta program runs from 28-30 October across the Fortitude Valley precinct. See the event's website for further details.

Violent Soho kick off their massive national run with The Bronx and Luca Brasi at Brisbane's Riverstage on 28 October. For a full spread of dates, venues and other info, see theGuide.
