"We love you all and promise to throw some huge parties when it’s clear that it’s safe to."

More Violent Soho More Violent Soho

After taking out the number four position in triple j’s Hottest 100 of the decade, Violent Soho have dropped a new vid for their latest track, Pick It Up Again

In a statement released today, the Queensland four-piece announced that the video comes in place of a tour announcement for their fifth album Everything Is A-OK, with the national run put on hold due to the spread of COVID-19.

“Thanks everyone for all the love over the weekend, especially to triple j listeners for the huge support we’ve been shown over the years,” says the band.

“We’re four working-class blokes from Brisbane who get to share our music with you all and (can’t stress this enough) the love we receive back means the absolute world. It means everything.

"We were going to announce a tour today, but in light of the current climate it didn’t feel right to do so. Instead, here’s Pick It Up Again, another taste of our upcoming album Everything Is A-OK. We love you all and promise to throw some huge parties when it’s clear that it’s safe to. Till then, take care of ya selves.”

The video for Pick It Up Again, which you can watch above, sees the band don the guise of door-to-door album salesmen - a nod to the group's DIY early days - and play impromptu sets in homes around Brisbane.

Everything Is A-OK is slated for release 3 April via I OH YOU records.
