Applications are now open!
Live music venues across Victoria can now apply for support via the State Government’s $15 million relief package.
A response to the COVID-19 crisis, the funding is aimed at helping Victorian venues with a 50 to 1200 person capacity that need assistance.
The funding will help alleviate “immediate business costs caused by the shutdowns” and will also “help businesses reopen in a COVID-safe way, providing employment opportunities for music industry workers ranging from musicians and crew to bookers, promoters and more”.
"Venues have been a vital part of our music culture and economy – hosting thousands of gigs a week, providing a vital career-making platform for artists and employment for industry workers," Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley said last week when the package was announced.
"While our love of music has continued online throughout the shutdown, paid work for many in the industry has dried up. By helping to secure venues for the future, we’ll help the industry bounce back when it is safe to do so."
