Announced today, the Victorian Government gets behind an extra-special digital festival to inject funds into the live music sector.
Fancy a festival to close out the impending long weekend? The Victorian Government has today announced The Long Weekender; a virtual festival and fundraiser presented by Victoria Together and hosted by national treasure Myf Warhurst.

But it's not just festival vibes and good times in the comfort of your living room, with the event also set to inject $360,000 of additional funding towards artists and festival organisers.
Kicking off at midday this Monday 14 June, The Long Weekender will be bursting with incredible local talent including Adalita, Allara, Alex Lahey, Alice Skye, Archie Roach, Cable Ties, Courtney Barnett, The Black Sorrows, The Cat Empire, The Dirty Three, Frente!, Hachiku, James Henry, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Loose Tooth, Magic Dirt, The Meanies, Mo’ju , Sampa The Great, Spiderbait, Simona Castricum, Sleep D, The Teskey Brothers, Total Giovanni, You Am I - and more to be announced!
Offering a festival experience without the typical queues or timetable clashes, The Long Weekender comes at a time when so many in the industry are suffering, with Minister for Creative Industries Danny Pearson publicly flying the flag for the live music scene in today's announcement: “Live music is such an integral part of Victorian culture and our artists and festivals are recognised right across the globe so jump online this Monday for your chance to see our world-class performers shine.”
