Aussie singer-songwriter Vance Joy has been confirmed as the support act for the North American leg of Taylor Swift's just announced world tour.

The Riptide hitmaker will join the country-pop superstar throughout the massive tour, which kicks off next year in May and finishes up in October, according to the official dates on Swift's website. The tour hook-up follows on from Swift's gorgeous cover of Joy's mega hit Riptide recently, which garnered praise worldwide.

Swift has also announced she will be heading down under in December 2015, although no dates or venues have been confirmed as yet.

In other news for Joy, real name James Keogh, he's added a couple of extra shows to upcoming Aussie tour, with new shows confirmed for Melbourne at the Palais Theatre on Thursday 12 March and then in Perth at the Astor Theatre on Thursday 19 March. Tickets to these two shows will go on sale this Friday 7 November.
