The US songstress is Australia-bound this month

More Taylor Swift More Taylor Swift

American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has paid the highest form of flattery to Aussie troubadour Vance Joy with a piano-driven, emotive rendition of his world-beating single Riptide for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge series.

Swift was in the station's studios to discuss her brand new album 1989, which has been pegged as the former country singer's first full official dip in the pop pool and features somewhat controversial hit Shake It Off, produced by previous collaborators Max Martin and Shellback. And, although there's another non-single mere days away from dropping in the lead-up to the album's launch, she very well may have outdone herself before that even hits our ears with her sublime reimagining of the ubiquitous Joy track.

Check out the video below.

Taylor Swift will be in Australia in just under two weeks for the Grand Final of this year's X Factor reality show. The Grand Final episodes will screen Sunday, October 19, and Monday, October 20, on Channel Seven.
