Riptide breaking out in UK
Breakout Melbourne singer-songwriter Vance Joy has bulleted up the UK singles chart this week, with his track Riptide jumping 50 places this week.
On the back of strong Radio 1 play the track polled strongly in the iTunes chart later last week and by hovering around the 20 mark it gave indication that a big chart boost was on the cards. Rising from 85 to 35 this week in the Official UK Charts, it currently also sites at 25 on the iTunes chart.
The track was also making an impact on Ireland's charts, reaching as high as 88 – at least – on the iTunes charts late last week.
Experts all over the world have been tipping the towering Vance Joy – real name James Keogh – as one of the bright hopes of 2014. Those tipping Vance include Shazam, who ranked him as one of their top artists in terms of user interaction in 2013.

Signed to Liberation locally, where the single reached double platinum status in September and was eventually the top selling Australian single of the year, he also signed a deal with Atlantic Records for the world outside of Australia and New Zealand, with the iconic label releasing his EP God Loves You When You're Dancing, which features Riptide, in a number of markets. The video for the single has attracted over 3,500,000 views to date.
He is booked to play the upcoming Laneway Festival.
