Celebrated US jazz musician and composer Kamasi Washington has today confirmed he will be heading to Australia this March for two headline shows in support of his appearance at the annual Bluesfest.
The 34-year-old musician, known as "the high priest of sax" will first perform at The Prince in Melbourne on 22 March, followed by Sydney's Metro Theatre on 23 March, before he moves on to play at the Byron Bay festival.
Tickets for both shows go on sale this Friday from 1pm, though Telstra customers will have access to the pre-sale which starts from Wednesday — click here for more details.
Washington's debut album The Epic debuted at #1 on the iTunes Jazz chart upon its released last May in Australia, US, Canada, Russia and UK.
