"Twilight at Taronga raises the bar year after year when it comes to creating these once-in-a-lifetime, priceless moments."
The annual Taronga At Twilight series has confirmed it will return next year - revealing the massive lineup of Aussie acts set to take to the stage in January and February.
The yearly concert event - which takes place on the grounds of Sydney's Taronga Zoo - will be presented in collaboration with the Litter Free Oceans Campaign, with a portion of the proceeds going towards the campaign to reduce single use plastics.
“We love Twilight at Taronga!" Taronga Zoo Community Conservation Manager Belinda Fairbrother said of the event. "Not only for the incredible line-up of Aussie music artists, but because at Taronga we pride ourselves on promoting sustainable events."
Fairbrother continued, "reducing single use plastics is the key message in our Litter Free Oceans campaign, and Twilight is integral to achieving this goal, with our backstage area first becoming single-use plastic free in 2015. Since then, we have gone to every length to ensure we are reducing our impact, like introducing plant-based food packaging for straws, cutlery and drinking cups, which are then collected in a dedicated stream and composted.”
Co-presented by Mastercard Australia, Vice President Kirsty Redfern also shared her excitement, adding, “The very best experiences leave us feeling uplifted and more connected to those around us. Combining some of the best views and entertainment that Australia has to offer, Twilight at Taronga raises the bar year after year when it comes to creating these once-in-a-lifetime, Priceless moments. After a year of uncertainty these experiences have never been more important, and Mastercard is proud to partner with the team to deliver this year’s Summer Concert Series.”
A slew of local acts will hit the stage next year including Winston Surfshirt, Daryl Braithwaite, Vika & Linda, Josh Pyke, San Cisco, Washington, Odette and many more.
