Triple j breakfast show host Matt Okine has scored a shiny new comedy series on ABC with Gretel Killeen, due to premiere next month.

Titled How Not To Behave, the show is said to be "part comedy, part social anthropology" according to Jon Casimir, head of ABC Entertainment, and will guide us, a breed of innately socially awkward humans, through the stresses of dinner parties, supermarkets, funerals, the workplace and the other trials and tribulations of modern society.

Okine says, "I’ve spent most of my life perfecting the art of not knowing how to behave… Comedians are generally the most socially awkward people on the planet, so you can be sure this show’s in expert hands."

Jennifer Collins, head of Screentime's Non Fiction team, says, "Gretel Killeen is an exquisite talent, fiercely intelligent, impeccably stylish, and just plain funny. triple j breakfast radio host Matt Okine is a rising star of the Australian comedy scene known for his clever observations and heart-warming humour."

The show will feature a mostly "how-to" structure and will test a lot of boundaries that people are scared to toe — a few examples given include, is it ever okay to pick up at a funeral? Should you discipline other people's kids? Which parts of a changing room is it okay to walk around naked in?

The show will premiere on ABC on Wednesday, 15 July at 8pm and is produced by Screentime for ABC TV.
