After more than 20 years of the recurring weekly segment, triple j have announced a special month full of Like A Version performances, doubling their output throughout March.

First teased last week, triple formally announced their forthcoming event on-air on Friday, before dropping all the specific details on Sunday, 2 March.

First launching Like A Version in January 2004, the ongoing segment has traditionally featured one cover and one original being performed by an artist each week. Originally taking place on Wednesdays, the segment moved over to Fridays in 2008, and save for a few one-offs from time to time, it has remained there in the Mornings slot ever since.

Throughout March, however, Like A Version will be taking place in both the traditional Friday Mornings spot, along with the Tuesday afternoons Drive slot.

In another first, triple j have also announced the eight acts who will be appearing throughout the month – a shift from their usual announcement a day or two prior.

Kicking things off on 3 March will be Turnstile, who were in the country over the new year. The hardcore outfit were just last year featured on the segment when Australia’s own Amity Affliction covered HOLIDAY for their own appearance.

The Veronicas will also make their solo debut on 5 March, having previously covered Big Yellow Taxi with Allday back in 2019, while Cat & Calmell covered their own track, 4ever, back in November.

French musician Oklou will appear on 10 March, while Baker Boy will return to the studio on 13 March, having first appeared back in 2022 to cover Blur’s Song 2.

Lucy Dacus will take on the 17 March spot, while MAY-A will follow along on 20 March. Former BROCKHAMPTON leader Kevin Abstract will return to the studio for the first time since 2018, though for his first time as a solo act on 24 March, while Inkabee will become the youngest artist to feature on the segment when he closes out proceedings on 27 March.
