Make Your Vote Count - The Hottest 100 Dates Have Dropped

Lock it in!

Friendships will be tested next January when the Hottest 100 makes its return.

Triple J has today revealed its annual countdown will take place on Saturday 25 January at 12pm AEDT, before the Hottest 200 (aka “the songs that just missed out”) kicks off on Monday 27 January at 10am local time, which is a public holiday.

No doubt we’ll begin to see an influx of artist pleas roll out next Monday at 8am AEDT when voting opens via the triple j website, and if the countdown is anything like this year’s there’ll be some tough competition, with the youth broadcaster reporting a record 2,758,584 votes last time.

This year’s Hottest 100 featured a slew of homegrown talent, with Sydney’s Ocean Alley claiming #1 with Confidence, joined on the list by 64 other local tunes.

Triple J has also revealed a new partner this year in Greening Australia, an organisation that runs tree-planting projects across Australia in an effort combat climate change, with the station taking donations in the lead up to and during the countdown.

Voting will close on January 20 and you can find more details via the triple j website.
