Homegrown talent dominated today’s Hottest 100 countdown, with 65 local tunes making the triple j list and Sydney’s own Ocean Alley claiming #1 with Confidence.

There was some fierce competition this year, with the youth broadcaster reportedly receiving a record 2,758,584 votes in the lead up.

Ocean Alley kicked off the countdown with Happy Sad at #100 before also appearing at #16 with their 2018 Like A Version cover Baby Come Back and #10 with Knees.

Childish Gambino’s This Is America was a strong contender for the top place, but ended up landing at #4, behind Aussie producer Fisher’s Losing It at #2 and Travis Scott’s Sicko Mode at #3.

Seven songs in the top ten were by Aussie acts, with Amy Shark’s I Said Hi (#5), Dean LewisBe Alright (#6), Mallrat’s Groceries (#7) and Ruby FieldsDinosaurs (#9) also making the cut.
