After a successful run in 2024, triple j’s One Night Stand will return this year—and sooner than punters might expect.

One Night Stand returned with its first event in five years in September in the coastal Victorian town of Warrnambool.

With a star-studded line-up of Australian talent, including headliners G Flip and Ruel and epic performances also from What So Not and friends, Thelma Plum, Sycco, DICE, and local Warrnambool talent Flynn Gurry as the triple j Unearthed competition winner.

Punters won’t have to wait until September for One Night Stand 2025.

According to a press release, triple j’s One Night Stand will return in May and host a “huge” line-up of Australian artists in a different regional town somewhere in the country, making it a live music capital for one special night.

The triple j team will announce the line-up for this year’s event on Tuesday, 25 March, and reveal the location on Thursday, 27 March.

Last year’s One Night Stand saw its 15,000 tickets sell out in less than 24 hours, raising $150,000 for Support Act amidst the fun of the event. The festival also welcomed special guests Cub Sport and Missy Higgins, with the latter joining G Flip for an excellent rendition of Scar.

2024 marked the 20th anniversary of the One Night Stand, which first debuted in Natimuk, Victoria, in July 2004 with a bill featuring Grinspoon, The Dissociatives, and Eskimo Joe.

The concert returned for another gig in a new city every year until 2020 (with the exception of 2015) when a planned event was scrapped due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The last edition pre-hiatus was held in Lucindale, South Australia, in September 2019, with a line-up featuring Hilltop Hoods, Meg Mac, Ocean Alley, G Flip, and Chelsea Manor.
