"I can’t wait to really build something together.”
Triple J has unveiled a slew of changes to its schedule alongside the addition of a new show.
It’s been revealed that triple j Weekend Lunch host Tyrone Pynor will kick off brand-new specialist show soul ctrl, “a weekly dose of neo-soul, RNB and smooth jams” that airs every Monday from 9pm.
“I’m excited for soul ctrl to be the space that teenage Tyrone wanted,” Pynor said.
“Soul, neo-soul and R&B are such a big part of my life and it's exciting to see a community of artists in Australia continually growing. Now, for two hours straight on a Monday night I’ll be playing you the best new music from these genres, and I can’t wait to really build something together.”
Declan Byrne’s Home & Hosed has been brought forward an hour and will now run from 8pm-9pm, alongside the following changes:
Over on Double J, Angharad Yeo signs on as host of Double J Weekends, taking over from Dylan Lewis, who will still “remain part of the Double J family”.

“In my humble (yet professional) opinion, Double J is one of the best radio stations in the country,” Yeo said.
“I'm honoured to be joining a lineup of powerhouse presenting talent that I greatly admire, and a hard-working team of people who make the station so great. Music has always been such a key part of my life, and I'm totally stoked to be able to vibe with everyone over some banger tunes on a weekend.”
The changes follow on from news last year that Gemma Pike would be leaving the ABC, stepping down from her role as triple j Assistant Music Director and the host of Double J program The J Files, the latter of which is currently being presented by Caz Tran.
