The Brooklyn trio have been described as one of the first rap groups to add a straight R&B twist to their music and were contemporaries of the likes of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five and Run DMC, and toured on the latter's legendary 1986 Raising Hell tour alongside the Beastie Boys and LL Cool J (where in fact Whodini had second billing).
