Reznor and Ross' Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles score is "exhilarating, terrifying" and "heartbreaking".

Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have made a name for themselves outside of the world of alternative rock and industrial metal music with their award-winning film scores, including The Social Network, the 2021 Pixar movie Soul, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, last year's cannibal love story Bones And All, the 2019 series Watchmen, and many more.
If they can soundtrack Soul, why not take on a franchise that kids from all generations love? That’s exactly what they’ve done.
On Thursday, 7 September, Australian viewers can watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem in cinemas (the film hits American cinemas on 2 August) and check out the latest movie score provided by Reznor and Ross.
While Director Jeff Rowe shared the news yesterday (29 May), he had no real choice but to acknowledge the leak that came from his “teenage hero” Tony Hawk. “Well now that my teenage hero Tony Hawk has leaked that my music heroes are doing this I can add that the score is absolutely AMAZING,” Rowe wrote on Twitter.
For those speculating: nothing they’ve done has been released yet. It’s not them in the teaser trailer, and won’t be them in this week’s trailer. You’ll just have to wait until August 2 to have your mind shattered and rebuilt with beauty and then shattered again

“Exhilarating, terrifying, heartbreaking, full of sounds I didn’t know existed. I don’t have the vocabulary to describe it. I love it so much”.
Rowe added, “For those speculating: nothing they’ve done has been released yet. It’s not them in the teaser trailer, and won’t be them in this week’s trailer. You’ll just have to wait until August 2 to have your mind shattered and rebuilt with beauty and then shattered again.”
Tony Hawk accidentally dropped the news on a recent episode of the Hawk vs. Wolf podcast, which you can watch here.
Earlier this month, Tony Hawk linked up with guitarist Ben Weinman (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Suicidal Tendencies), bassist Brad Magers (The Bronx, Mariachi El Bronx), keyboardist Kat Lucas (stormylovechild, ex-P!nk), drummer Ryan "Legs" Leger (ex-Every Time I Die, ex-Norma Jean), guitarist and percussionist Mikey Hawdon (Fairmounts) for a wicked cover of Nine Inch Nails’ Wish.
Wish, from the band’s 1992 Broken EP, goes hard, and Tony Hawk and friends even managed to wrangle in a cameo from none other than Trent Reznor himself (yelling “fist fuck” at Tony Hawk, who skates past him, no less).
