Tom Delonge To Cover All Of His Blink-182 Past In New Documentary

While the remaining members of Blink-182 have just kicked off a massive US tour on the back of their new #1 album, California, founding member Tom Delonge is gearing up for the release of a documentary which is set to cover his past with the seminal punk outfit, as well as the origins of Angels & Airwaves and his current projects in film, comics, novels and more. 

Presented by guitar company Ernie Ball, The Pursuit Of Tone — Tom Delonge is set to screen next month and the 40-year-old songwriter has been hyping up the documentary in recent weeks, following comments he made suggesting that he has been talking about working again with Blink drummer Travis Barker, while Barker himself said the opportunity for Delonge to return to the band he founded in 1992 will always be open.

The trailer for the documentary which has just dropped briefly mentions the beginning and eventual break-up of Blink-182 in 2005.

"I was hanging out with this girl and the girl says 'Hey, my brother plays bass'," he says of meeting Mark Hoppus for the first time. 

"He came over with a bass guitar and I said 'Here’s a riff I had. It’s like, catchy and intricate, but simple.' And he starts pounding away on the bass. The music just worked.

"The band exploded and was really big, but I sensed that there was ways we could experiment musically," he later says in the trailer.

"That realisation was like a nuclear bomb."
