He's left blink-182 twice but Tom Delonge says he still plans on returning to the pop punk band "in the future".

Having just released new music with his other band Angels & Airwaves, who are set to embark on their first headline in seven years this September, the 43-year-old songwriter told Kerrang! he is well aware “there’s going to be people that are wanting blink”, but he is currently focused on AVA and his multimedia production company, To The Stars.

“I get it – trust me, I love blink and it’s given me everything in my life,” Delonge said.

“And, you know, I plan on doing it in the future. But right now there’s just no way – I have way too much going on because Angels & Airwaves is a part of To The Stars, and that’s why it works.”

Angels & Airwaves released their new track Rebel Girl a few weeks ago, while blink have also given fans the first taste of their follow-up to 2016's Grammy-nominated record California, with single Blame It On My Youth.

While their has obviously been some bad blood between Delonge and blink in recent years, it appears both sides have cooled off. In a recent Instagram post, Delonge thanked Angels & Airwaves fans for the reception to Rebel Girl, while also congratulating blink on their new track.

Meanwhile, appearing on The Music Podcast in March, bassist Mark Hoppus said blink's new album should be out "by the summer in the States".

"We're writing a really great blink album and I can't wait for people to hear it," Hoppus said.
