This That Festival Announces Massive 2016 Line-up

Newcastle's budding boutique event has filled out its ranks beautifully for its second year

Nascent Newcastle boutique bash This That Festival has unveiled a stellar line-up of acts to complement its recently announced headliner ScHoolboy Q headed to the city's foreshore for the second annual event this November.

Adding to This That's allure in 2016 are a diverse array of excellent acts from a broad spectrum of genres and scenes; to wit, there's the esteemed likes of Hermitude, L D R U, Peking Duk, SAFIA and Moonbase Commander; the hip hop strains of upstarts such as Sampa The Great and Jess Kent alongside veteran rapper Drapht; the eclectic instrumentation and irresistible vibes of ensembles such as Koi Child and Ball Park Music, and even some extra international cred in the form of breakout Swedish performer Elliphant. There will also be a performance from a yet-to-be-announced triple j Unearthed act, as well as party vibes aplenty from Luen, Shantan Wantan Ichiban and more.

It's not just your ears that are well looked after at This That, of course, with organisers taking great pains to ensure the event's reputation for fresh, eminently edible food is maintained in its second year; to that end, the destination locales of BBQ Hill and Grill Hill will have punters well and truly sorted with veritable (but not literal) smorgasbords of delight, boasting delicacies including 'dinosaur' ribs, giant turkey legs, skewered fired meats and Spanish fired octopus, among others, all washed down with a cocktail or craft brew from one of the many event vendors.

Tickets for the 2016 This That Festival, on Saturday 5 November at the Newcastle Foreshore, will be released for pre-sale from next Tuesday, 9 August. General-release passes will go on sale from 9am AEST on Thursday, 11 August.
