American pop-punk band Meet Me @ The Altar have been steadily building buzz since their formation in 2015.
The band name comes from a chance text chain. In a Billboard feature, the publication noted, "The [name] stems from a text message [Ada] Juarez [drums] sent [Edith] Victoria [vocals] in a bonding moment: 'I was like "marry me!"' says [Téa] Campbell [guitar, bass], 'and she typed, "meet me @ the altar."'
The trio began playing shows in 2018, promoting the EP they released that year, Changing States, as well as their 2015 first EP, Red Walls. After releasing their third EP in 2019, Bigger Than Me, Meet Me @ The Altar signed with Fueled By Ramen in 2020, joining a roster that boasts Paramore, Fall Out Boy, A Day To Remember, and many more.
The band went viral in 2020, prior to their signing, after they received cosigns from veterans of the scene, Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low and Dan "Soupy" Campbell from The Wonder Years. In 2021, Meet Me @ The Altar released their Fueled By Ramen debut, the Model Citizen EP, which was preceded by the single, Hit Like A Girl.
Loudwire dubbed the single one of the Best Rock Songs of 2021, writing, "Infectious is an understatement. Proving the future of pop-punk and easycore doesn’t simply lie at the behest of established rappers and pop stars, Meet Me @ The Altar brought unparalleled authenticity to 2021 with Hit Like a Girl. With fantastic guitar work, lock-step drumming and killer vocal lines, Hit Like a Girl is a heaping plate of positivity for absolutely everyone." Read the rest of their list here.
Now, Meet Me @ The Altar have made their late night television debut on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert. With its glorious riffs, gang vocals, slamming drums, assertive confidence, and lyrics that call out online trolls ("I’m a bitch and my band is an industry plant / Least that what it says on the internet" is the first line), the band performed their latest single, Say It To My Face, from their upcoming debut album, Past // Present // Future, which will be released on 10 March via Fueled by Ramen.
