It's been five years since they've released a studio album but fans don't have to wait any longer with the announcement that Thirsty Merc will drop a new record this September and in celebration of the news, the boys are hitting the road for a national tour.

The new record, Shifting Gears, was recorded following songwriting sessions in Sydney, Melbourne and LA and the crowd-funding platform 'PledgeMusic' helped the Sydney-founded act to record and mix the new material.

The album will be recorded in New York by Grammy-nominated producer Emily Lazar (who has worked with Foo Fighters and David Bowie among others) in time for its September release.

Ahead of the first single from the forthcoming album, The Good Life being released on 31 July, the band will commence their national tour in Melbourne on 14 September, before moving on to perform in all mainland states throughout October and November.

Tickets for all shows go on sale from 9am on Monday 27 July and for more details, head to theGuide or check out The Music App

Shifting Gears will be released on 4 September through MGM Distribution.
