Things Are More Than Alright Because Dean Lewis' Album Just Hit #1 On The ARIA Charts

Dean Lewis' album A Place We Knew has debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. 

The Australian singer-songwriter has scored the top spot with his debut album, as well as securing himself a stack of positions in the Singles Chart, with 7 Minutes coming in at #10, Be Alright at #17, Stay Awake makes its debut chart appearance at #26, while Waves from Lewis' 2017 EP Same Kind Of Different has re-entered the chart at #68.

This is the highest position to date for 7 Minutes, which last week came in at #17.  

"A Place We Knew, it tells a story in a single sentence," Lewis shared in a recent interview with The Music. “To me, it [evokes] that I recorded these songs in all these different places around the world. 

"And, secondly, it has this specific feeling to it. You know when you drive past an old house you used to live in with an ex-girlfriend, or whatever, and it’s two years later, and everyone’s moved on, but there’s all those feelings, and emotions, and memories of that place, and it’s quite a bittersweet feeling. A lot of the songs have that longing to it. That’s so powerful to me. It sums up everything."

Fellow Aussie acts Flume and The Murlocs have also had a successful debut week on the Albums Chart, with Flume's Hi This Is Flume mixtape coming in at #11 and The Murlocs' Manic Candid Episode at #16. 

Jonas Brothers' remain strong at #1 on the Singles Chart with their track Sucker, while Ava Max's So Am I represents the only other debut within the top 40 at #29.
