The Smith Street Band To Donate Profits From Tonight's Gig To Charity

The Smith Street Band have confirmed tonight’s show in Melbourne will go ahead as planned, with money from ticket sales donated to a number of different charities.

Last weekend, the Melbourne rockers cancelled their Castlemaine gig following an incident the night previous at an U18's concert in which a punter was allegedly arrested for sexually assaulting a person in the crowd.

Taking to Facebook earlier today, the band said tonight’s show at The Croxton with Bec Sandridge and Press Club would be their “last headline show for a fair while”.

“We’re gonna pay our crew and the support bands but the rest of the money will be split between AIME, Minus18, The ASRC and Girls Rock Melbourne,” they said

“It’s been a real tough week. Would love to see some friendly faces tonight.”

Limited tickets will be available on the door.
