The Sharp have announced their national tour since they reunited in March – and as such, their first tour since 2010 – with eight dates on the itinerary for the second half of 2024.
The stint will kick off in Belgrave on Saturday July 26, with an intimate show booked in at the Sooki Lounge. The following night (July 27) will see them hit the Bundy Hall in Bundalaguah, before they roll up to Sydney for a two-night stag at the Dee Why RSL on Saturday August 30 and Sunday 31. Heading into September, they’ll play the Gold Coast’s South Port RSL on Saturday September 6, then the Alexandra Hills Hotel on Sunday September 7, and finally the Northcote Social Club in Melbourne on Saturday September 20.
Just for good measure, The Sharp will also play a second Melbourne show on Sunday November 2, taking over the Corner Hotel. James Reyne will join the band for that show, as well as the aforementioned dates in Sydney, the Gold Coast and Alexandra Hills.
The tour comes just in time for the 31st anniversary of The Sharp’s classic debut album, This Is The Sharp, which first landed in September of 1993 and made serious waves with hits like Train Of Thought, Scratch My Back and Yeah I Want You.
The Sharp announced their reunion back in March, with Wasabi singer Lee Harding onboard for the festivities. Harding has since backed out, though, with the band now consisting of original members Charlie Rooke (guitar and vocals) and drummer Piet Collins, double bass player Scott Owen (The Living End) and new vocalist Louie Lee Feltrin, a Melbourne-based entertainer known for his shows performing in The Robbie Williams Experience.
