Last week, The Screaming Jets announced that they’re hitting the road in 2025, but there was something special about that tour announcement: a trio of teenagers opening for them in Queensland.
The Wave Raiders, a band of two brothers and their best mate, will open for three all-ages Screaming Jets shows in Queensland – in Beenleigh/Eagleby, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast. Pete, Tom, and Jayden have made a name for themselves with their energetic brand of alternative rock and all-ages shows, but this is by far their biggest opportunity to date.
Heaping well-earned praise on the band, The Screaming Jets’ Dave Gleeson said, “The Wave Raiders are young, but they’ve got the raw energy and talent that’s hard to ignore. They’ve got something special.
“We love the fact that everywhere we go, there are young bands pumping out new rock - they love the Aussie music that’s gone before and want to be part of the rock scene moving forward.”
Gleeson continued, “Giving up [and] comers like the Wave Raiders a shot on big stages to bigger crowds is how The Jets were taught to do it by our heroes who gave us a shot.
“We’re amped that these upcoming QLD shows are all-ages – they’re a vital part of introducing young people to live music. There’s nothing like seeing different generations come together to rock out – and it’ll be one helluva education in rock n roll for the younger crowd!”

Pete, the band’s lead vocalist and guitarist, said of the opportunity, “We’ve been working hard and loving every minute of it, but to get a nod from The Screaming Jets? That’s next level!
“These guys are legends, and we’re so pumped to share these nights with them - it’s a pinch-yourself moment for sure.”
